I
offer my assistance in identifying, pricing and general knowledge whenever
I can, that being said, I don't tolerate being
taken advantage of, and anyone doing so, will
be noted in my reference files as someone not to deal with in the future.
Sales are hard enough these days, so that is a list you don't want to be
on in the doll community, because even though plastic bodies and faux leather
doesn't last forever, actions and names do.

From a very young age, dolls
have been my happy place, my enjoyment, my sharing and my
money pit (not necessarily in that order).
Because of that, I found myself becoming fully immersed in the doll world
around 1985, eventually working with several artists and companies.
There is a special understanding between those of us who collect dolls
- we are a silent community, that loves beauty, memories, compassion and
attachment. That is also why, I try to help collectors downsize, or the
families of collectors (usually clueless),
that have passed on regarding what their loved one collected, hoarded
or just loved! At the same time, I am often able to rehome special
dolls to others, who may not have had the opportunity to acquire them.
My mission if you will, has made
me a doll whisperer,
in knowing value, names, companies and editions, as
well as good and bad collectors, and more
often than not, where to find special dolls.
Personally, my eclectic tastes reach
back to 1960, and into the present day, from cereal prize toys, Barbie,
Tammy, Remco, Ideal, Funko, Nightmare Before Christmas, Addams Family and
Munsters, any kind of witch or frog, Disney, movies and well...the list
is endless actually. So much so, that I have published two detective novels
centered around doll collectors and Hollywood. You can find out more on
my site mzlks.net
In 1995 after leaving the pink box
world of Barbie, was when I entered the era of Mel Odom and his muse, Gene
Marshall, and 16" fashion doll love has never left. I have also been involved
with numerous conventions and events, and put on two very successful conventions
personally, and worked for Integrity Toys. My direct and longterm
association with Gene, made me the official/unofficial historical
of her legacy, having been at events firsthand. I've maintained electronic
and physical archives of everything created, as well as most photography.
However, not stopping at Gene, I crossed over to her line of friends, at
Tonner and Wilde (Evangeline Ghastly especially),
Mattel, Jamieshow and Integrity.
In short, because I am knowledgeable,
and still an active collector, I reach out when I see sellers on
eBay or other platforms, usually a family member, trying to sell collections
of a late collector, and often are being taken advantage of (nothing
makes me more angry). You see, dolls and items that live rent free
in my brain, are foreign to the majority of the population, and that unknowing
could
potentially be the difference in hundreds of dollars.
