When Evangeline was 8 years old,
she found a diary in one of the many dressers
in the attic. Since then she has kept a day
by day account of her life. When she
found the diary there were only two
entries in it.The first entry was written
on the day of her birth but not signed by
anyone. The other entry didn't come until
April 24, 1928. it simply said;

Happy Birthday Evangeline.
We will never forget you.
Love Mumsie and Dadums

She still hasn't figured out who wrote it. I
never said she was the smartest of girls.

Evangeline - New!

April 24, 1944 - Evangeline Ghastly™

Whether writing in my diary, walking Mouette, or picnicking in the cemetery, I always feel simply ghastly when wearing my beautiful black lace gown featuring a black velvet eyelash jacket with chiffon laced trimmed sleeves over a black spider web embroidered lace, with a chiffon overskirt. I wear it with my favorite black velvet pumps, choker with beaded accents, and matching lace umbrella, (a must-have for my delicate, pale skin). My long black wig and beautiful life-like eyes make for a very dramatic look, although no one ever seems to notice.

Evangeline is 19” tall, ball jointed, and crafted entirely of custom-poured fine resin.

March 5, 1944 - Cemetery Chic (outfit only)

Feeling bored earlier today, I made the perfect outfit for a cemetery stroll. I found a beautiful purple brocade bodice embellished with chiffon and beaded accents in one of the armoires. I paired it with a shantung skirt with crystal pleated flounce, delicate beaded fringe accent, and velvet ribbon bows down the back of the skirt. Befitting any dreary day, the gauntlets are purple mesh with grommet and lace-up closures. And because I just never know who I’ll bump into, the ensemble is complete with a beaded choker, stockings, and lace-up boots.

July 5, 1944 - Tea & Sympathy (outfit only)

Working at the mortuary has its benefits, and afternoon tea with Mr. Mort is certainly one of them. Today I wore this beautiful red and black brocade ensemble with a lace-up front corset over a delicate chiffon blouse and angel sleeves. The skirt is red lace over black lining with a black ruffle hem, which I found in the attic. To complete the look, I put on red and black peep toe shoes, a black ribbon necklace with rhinestone charm, and sheer stockings. Mr. Mort should be impressed.

"The weather on the night of Evangeline's birth was as expected. The wind was howling, the moon was full, and the doctor was unavailable."

And so begins the story of Evangeline Ghastly. With a mysterious diary entry, a pet skunk named Mouette, and fashions straight out of a Victorian novel, Evangeline is definitely.....a whole other story!
Created by Joe Petrollese and sculpted by award-winning designer Robert Tonner, she is ball jointed, stands 19" tall, and is crafted of fine resin. Evangeline is what most people would call unfortunate; she likes to think of  it as misunderstood.

She keeps a day by day account of her life through her diary, which she’s had for as long as she can remember. Every year on her birthday Evangeline writes in her diary the same thing "Maybe next year". What does it
mean?  Found in a drawer in one of the many dressers in the attic, the first entry was written on the day of her birth; the second entry came on her fourth birthday and simply said: "Happy Birthday Evangeline. We will never forget  you. Love Mumsie and Dadums"

She has never figured out who wrote it. I never said she was the smartest of girls.
